Why this exists

I got tired of watching tradies pay fifty dollars for a lead that went to three of their competitors at the same time.

My name is Sean Streten. I build things on the Gold Coast, and I have spent enough time around trades and boatyards to know how the online side of it works for a small operator. You pay a directory for leads. The lead is shared. Most of them go nowhere. You pay again next month.

So this is the opposite of that. The core directory comes from the QBCC public register, and specialist service listings are clearly labelled when they come from a public business website. Nobody paid to be included and nobody can pay to be higher up the page. There is no enquiry form that quietly sells your job to four people. If you find a tradie here, you ring them, and that is the end of my involvement.

For homeowners, the point is the tick. It means that business held a current QBCC contractor licence when the register was last read, on 1 September 2026. It does not mean I vouch for their work, and the register excludes cancelled licences, so the live QBCC search is always the last word. For tradies, the point is that you get a page you did not have to pay for, and you can have it corrected or taken down the same day by asking.

It is built and paid for by Battle Forged AI, my company. I build websites and back-office systems for trades businesses, and this directory is how people find out I exist. That is the whole business model, and I would rather say it plainly than pretend the site is a charity.

Optional business help. Your listing stays free, and buying services never changes your ranking. Any paid work has a separate agreed scope and price.

Optional website help

Battleforged AI’s Service Website & Enquiry Build is A$2,420 including GST: a focused one-page service website with agreed copy and an enquiry form. Hosting, software and optional care are separate.

Listing updates are free. Buying a website does not change your directory inclusion or ranking.

Where the data comes from

Licences: the QBCC Licensed Contractors Register, published as Queensland Government open data, read 1 September 2026. Only companies holding contractor-grade licences are listed, because individual licence records carry home addresses and those should not be republished.

Ratings and phone numbers: Google's public business listings. Shown as they are, good or bad. Businesses are never ordered by rating.

Electricians: licensed by the Electrical Safety Office, not the QBCC. Electricians must claim their spot and provide licence details before they can be presented as verified here.
